Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor is a counseling group for victims of abuse and domestic violence.  When Nick and I seperated, I began taking our son to counseling because of all the domestic violence he witnessed as a toddler and baby. (He saw me get verbally assaulted, beat up, and witnessed the day when Nick broke my arm.) The Counselor Nixon was seeing recommended I start counseling at Safe Harbor and thank the spirits she did, I don't know what I would do or where I would be right now without this group.  (Nixon is no longer in counseling because he no longer needs it, but I go as often as possible.)
Before I started attending group, the thought never crossed my mind that I was a victim of abuse, that I, for years, experienced trauma in a huge way, daily.
Thanks to Safe Harbor, I am slowly healing and learning so so much about the cycles of abuse and how to avoid and overcome any future abuse.  I feel the path to recovery and a healthy, happy life is right around the corner.  Closer every day.
